Sports or Remedial Massage

 

This form of massage is a deep, intense treatment used to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in muscles during physical exertion.  

 

This treatment is based on traditional Holistic Massage, but also incorporates a number of other techniques, including stretching and trigger point response.

Treatment benefits the client by preventing injuries and minimising post-event injuries by speeding up healing and reducing swelling and discomfort due to over-exertion or over-use of muscles.

For sports people, it can be used pre-event, during event, post event or as part of a rehabilitation programme.

Treatments are often carried out at one of our clinics in Ealing or Twickenham in West London.

Usually, as only specific parts of the body are treated, (where there are symptoms) sessions last 60 minutes, so that enough time can be given to focussing on the area that hurts without causing further pain.

Regular treatments are recommended to identify and eliminate underlying factors and speed up recovery from any new injuries.

 

Corporate Treatments

Sports / Remedial Massage is not just for the sports person suffering from sports-related injuries.  It can also be used to treat people that work in physically demanding jobs and do a lot of manual handling or have poor posture.

This form of massage is often used to treat conditions such as lower back pain, RSI, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, golfers elbow, as well and neck and pelvic problems due to sitting at a desk in the office for too long and doing repetitive tasks.

It is, therefore, an ideal treatment to offer in the workplace.

Our practitioners will often work with Occupational Health to ensure staff are getting appropriate treatments after having an ergonomic assessment of the desk area to reduce the likelihood of injuries re-occurring.
